Ownership and stopping

Having a website built feels like a commitment. So here is, in plain language, what is yours, what happens when you stop and what it costs. No small print: exactly this is also in our terms and conditions.
At a glance
- Your domain name is yours. We always register it in your name. If you stop, you take it with you at no cost; you get the transfer code within 5 working days.
- Your texts, photos, logo and data are yours. You get them back for free when you stop, within 10 working days, together with an export of your form messages and orders.
- You can take over your website. After your term you take over the complete site for 3 monthly fees: you get the source code and all content.
- Live within 24 hours, otherwise your first month is free. After your first payment and your approval of the preview, your complete website is online within 24 hours (working days).
- You choose how committed you are: fixed (24 months, lowest price) or flexible (cancellable every month).
Fixed or flexible
For every package you choose between two variants when ordering. You can always switch from flexible to fixed later; the other way round is not possible during the term.

How does the buyout work for flexible?
With a flexible website or webshop you pay no build fee upfront. We earn it back through the slightly higher monthly price, spread over 24 months. If you stop earlier, you only pay the part that has not been earned back yet: build fee × remaining months ÷ 24. That amount goes down every month and is €0 after 24 months. Your customer portal always shows the exact amount at that moment.
Example (website, build fee €392): if you stop after 6 months, the buyout is €392 × 18 ÷ 24 = €294. After 12 months €196, after 18 months €98, after 24 months €0.
Private individuals
Not a business? Then you always take the flexible variant, you see prices including 21% VAT and you have a 14 day cooling off period. If you want us to start right away and you cancel within those 14 days, you only pay for the days that have passed.
What happens when you stop?
- Cancel via your customer portal or by email to info@onestone.ai. Within one working day you receive a confirmation with the end date.
- You choose what happens to your website: take it over for 3 monthly fees (you get the source code and content), keep it running with us for the maintenance fee, or take it offline.
- You transfer your domain name to the provider of your choice. We provide the transfer code within 5 working days, at no cost.
- You receive your materials (texts, photos, logo) and an export of your data, free of charge and within 10 working days.
- The last invoice runs until the end date. For flexible within 24 months the buyout is added; for fixed the remaining months of the term apply.
Taking over your website
After the term you can take over your website for 3 monthly fees. You receive the complete source code and all content, so you can run it with any hosting provider. You then arrange hosting, third party licences and further support yourself, or you stay with us for that. Your texts, photos and logo were always yours.
Go live guarantee: live within 24 hours
For a website package your complete website is online within 24 hours, counted from the moment your first payment has arrived and you have approved the preview. Only working days count (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays). Your site is then ready for review on an address of ours; after your approval we put it on your own domain name right away.
If we do not make it, your first month is free: we set it off against your next invoice or refund it on request. The guarantee does not apply if the delay is caused because we still need information or a transfer code from you, by a change request before delivery, or by force majeure, and not to webshops with more than 25 products, custom work and extra pages outside the package. See article 8.6.
Frequently asked questions
Can I stop early with fixed?
Only by paying the remaining months of the term. If in doubt, choose flexible: it costs a little more per month, but you can stop every month.
Can I switch from flexible to fixed later?
Yes, at any time, via your customer portal. You move to the lower fixed price, the buyout lapses and the 24 month term starts on the day you switch.
What if I move to another agency?
You take your domain name and your materials with you. You take over the website itself for 3 monthly fees after the term; with flexible you can stop earlier with the buyout.
What if OneStone stops?
Your domain name is in your name, so it always stays yours. You get your texts, photos and logo back and we cooperate in a proper handover.
